From a family of two, to a family of five in 2 years...

Wow I never thought you could turn a family of two (Maria and I) to a family of 5 in only a couple of years.. Yeap, how to do that? well, have a baby and two years later have twins ! that will do it. We are so happy with the new additions that can barely wait to meet them !! Now, with all these changes of course everything else will change too... Training will be limited for sure to my commute to and from work %% and races probably some local ones until the babies are ready to go camping ! (Maria has promised that we will go to Kaslo to race again late September :-))) I don't think we will need to get a bigger trailer since we all are pretty small lol// However, I can not say the same with the car we used to drive as Maria's biggest fear just came through ! Yeah, owning a minivan !. At first she thought "no way I will be driving a minivan, I 'd rather use the utility trailer to carry the extra car seats ha-ha.. but, soon enough she realized that it was too difficul...

Cochrane loop

80k ish, 4 hours total riding time and a gorgeous blue sky! It is always nice to meet with the group for coffee, ride, lunch and more riding.. Big turn out today with 9 of us. Headed towards Cochrane as usual, but as usual through a different way as it always happen there are at least 1,000 ways to make it to Cochrane.. This time it was a new single track behind the Saint Francis Retreat going across the Big Hills park. A few sections were bone dry and others just with packed snow. After having a break and lunch at the Java Coffee shop in Cochrane the group brook into two (the hammer group and the sane group %%^^). I of course lead the sane group (Cindy, Andre and me) and came back to Calgary through the Glembow Ranch park and up the hill at Scott Trail ! The other group (or at least Shawn and Erik) managed to get home pretty much at the same time than Cindy and Andrea (how did it happened???) well, I am pretty sure their pace was a bit harder :-)))))

Back in winterland... Love this country !

Well, after a well deserved break and awesome riding in Florida we got back to Calgary on a sunny Friday afternoon. Without hesitating I was eager to unpack my bike and meet with the Cadence group for the first winter ride of 2013. So pumped with the new bike all I wanted was to show off !! and of course try out the disc breaks.. The group was big and we headed out nw. After a few hours I had to turn around and come back home as Maria had an appointment and my parenting duties where needed :-)))) love that, perfect excuse to bail from the group that often makes me ride on red most of the time #$%%% We rode some single tracks all the way up to Tuscany with 12 mile coulee been perfectly frozen this time (last time it was a lot of swimming). Breaks are awesome and I am looking forward for more cold riding to take advantage of them! Back in the house I put in my flashy green color tires on, they don't have an aggressive tread, but they look fast ! I have been riding now from home t...
