Picklejar Lakes with Nic and Beni edition in 2022

Image
This time it was Nic and Beni the adventurers to tackle Picklejar hike and spend the night !! Last year was Nic and Lucas. Beautiful time of the year to be up there, however no larches to be seen yet.... I am sure next week they will all be out !! Took us 2 hours to hike to the second lake (5kms and 500 mts of gain). The spot we found was nice and cover with trees, there was left over firewood and had a nice firepit. We camp by the lake to have access to water. Once the set up was done and lunch was eaten we went out for a short 2kms hike to explore lakes 3 and 4. Beautiful area and lots of Marmots around. After that we chilled in the tent, spent time at the lake and cook some dinner before it got dark. The temperature dropped down to 0c, but we weren't cold at all. Slept through the night. Next day we woke up at around 8 and after breakfast and seating on a nice an warm fire we packed and headed down. Back in the car by 12:00

We went to Floe Lake for an overnight and were blessed with fantastic weather. The hike is 10.7kms one way with almost 900mts of elevation. Took us 4:06 with a quick stop for lunch and filtering water at the 7km mark. The trail is bushy and has section that will cover our height pretty well, we were bumping into hikers both ways without seen them ! crazy views. At the top we managed to set up our tent and deep in the cold glacier water brrrr. We had plenty of time to relax and have dinner while admiring the lake.  The night was good and warm, although we didn't sleep right through we wake up and after breakfast had a nice walk up to a meadow near by for another view of the Floe Mountain..  In the way down we took it easy and ate raspberries all the way down... it was hot and we stopped again for w...
