Winter rides coming to an end...

Image
Well, it all seems that happened so fast when we come to an end of winter and I find myself usually overdressed when riding outside. I couldn't have done all these long rides without the support of my lovely wife who didn't mind at all waking up early on the cold winter weekends to have breakfast with me before I headed out for a long ride..  Thanks to Craig and the gang for letting me tag along on these long and cold rides. The last winter ride was yesterday, an over casted Sunday with a high of 5c. Met at Cadence for coffee with Craig, Kate and Devin and decided to head down south and stay on pathways for the entire ride.. Amazing pathways we have in this beautiful city, I am amazed how far you can get on these paths with little road riding. After about 3 hours we stopped at Cafe Rosso (awesome place in the SE that I had never been in before) ordered a panini that was BTW awesomely tasty and chilled out with the guys talking about races, coffee and a Bati...

Saturday ride, March 10th

Another awesome day for riding. Met at Cadence for some story telling from Craig and Kate about the stage race in Andalucia and headed out up to COP towards Cochrane with a huge group of riders. As usual there is always some one that wants to hammer in this group, this time was John as we were approaching a climb who tried to break away with Craig M. and I couldn't resist the temptation to get my heart rate up a notch and chase them down. Once that game was over I think Craig M. still wanted to keep his HR up when decided on the gravel road to pick up a tempo pace with another roadie guy. I was riding right behind him with Kate and we made it all the way to Cochrane in no time. We kind of messed up with the "no drop" rule for today, but we all knew where we were going.....(besides if someone gives me sh... for that I will blame Craig M.).. Stopped for coffee at Cochrane and the place "the guys cafe" was full !!! so some time constraints made me decide to skip lu...

More winter riding!!

This time I met with Erik, Shawn and Craig M. at Phills & Sebastians in Marda Lopp (first I didn't know where that coffee shop was, so I decided to leave home earlier and ride there..) took me about 40min, but I now I know where that is !! Headed out for the ride of the day and after talking about ice crashes down I went !! thanks god that Erik didn't landed into my head, but it was pretty close... Put myself together, straighted my leavers, put my computer back on and road away. The guys were trying to find a way out through some farms, but we agreed that we didn't want to get yell at and stayed in the gravel roads to Pridis. All this riding from Marda Loop was to finally get to Coal Mine Road (pictured beside) which is one of the best more scenery roads down south.. a bit of climbing, but nice and flowy..After riding Coal Mine Road we connected to 22x where the head wind was tough, however as I was practicing my drafting skills Shawn offered to pull all the way to B...
