Backcountry trip with the kids to Taylor Lake !!

Taylor Lake 2022
Annual backcountry trip with the kids. The usual spot (Taylor Lake) amazing ski down (7.5kms) all the way to the parking lot !! the hike is a long one (almost 3hours) and under a snow storm with a few snack breaks.
Kids were awesome, all the way up, no complains AT ALL/

This year we camp at Lake Louise Friday night to be there ready to roll on Saturday morning.. It was a winter camping experience under lots lots of snow.. In the morning after a shower and solid breakfast we moved to trailer to the parking lot at Taylor Lake, prep all the gear and started the hike around 11am.

We hike in a snow storm for about 3 hours and by the time we arrive to the top we were covered from head to toe... Good thing we cover the sled and all the gear with a plastic bag and managed to keep the boots and helmets dry.

Luckily, at the lake we were blessed with at least 20 minutes of sunshine and pretty warm weather. We had enough time to have lunch, get change and prep to ski down !!  I strapped the sled to my back and we enjoy the ski down to the car without stops.

Once in the parking lot, and since we had the trailer there we chilled for a while and had hotdogs before the drive back to Calgary.

What a day !
