Mount Yamnuska with Nic, 2025
Time for a new adventure with Nic in 2025 !! Mount Yamnuska traverse, around 10.6kms with 1,000 mts of elevation gain :-)

Saturday July 12th was the day, left home at around 9:00am (a bit late, but not too late). After a quick drive we parked in the last spot available in Mount Yamnuska, got all the gear and left at a steady pace.
We brough harnesses and rope to go across the chain section in a safety and responsible manner..
The hike is relatively easy all the way to the main crux (the chimney), from there the terrain is a bit more loose and expose at time. Once we get to the chains section is time to pay attention to what you do.. We brough harnesses and rope just to be safer while crossing as it could be really windy at times.
After the chains there is a bit of scramble down that is also tricky and could lead to high consequences if tripping... I kept Nic on the leash until we started to climb again. At the summit there is plenty of space to seat and have lunch as long as it is not windy, which was the case on Saturday.
After a nice break we started the way down, the first section is loose, but it gets better. Then, you have the option of either descent down on the recommended trail (west coal) or the not recommended trail the "Scree" section.
It was a fun scree ski down all the way to the main trail. Super fun day and great experience for Nic.
