Backcountry ski with the kids part 2

This year I wanted to take the kids again into a safe and easy backcountry ski trip with me.

This time was only Lucas and Beni who ventured with me to Chester Lake on an exploratory mission to hike up and ski down.

It was a nice hike, but steep ! I don't know how I managed to pull the sled all the way up, but I did it ! The kids hike up like champs and without many breaks this time.

The hike up all the way to the Elephant Rocks takes around 2 1/2 hours and is only 5kms with less than 500mts of elevation gain.

We took our time at the top and the kids played on top of the rock for a bit. After that and with the skis on the managed their way down to the lake without any problems... It was flat at the lake for about 1.5kms (it sucks !) it was tough on them trying to move forward with the skis... Lucas took them off a few times, but after the lake we managed to ski down to the car without stopping for about 3.5kms.

Awesome day overall, no accidents and with great memories in the bank/
